Weekly Bulletin – 4/25/2010

How good it is to worship the Lord! We want you to know you are very much welcomed. We encourage everyone to extend the warm hand of Christian fellowship to one another. May we sense Christ’s presence among us as we open our spirits to Him.

BOOK CLUB Tuesday evening, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. We will be discussing Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.  What a great book! Come out and be a part of the great discussion and fellowship!  Also, we will hear what next quarter’s featured book will be! Can’t wait !!!!!

MISSIONS CONFERENCE – May 2, 2010. The Sunday School hour will begin the conference with Oliver and Linda Williams from Christar.  The guest speaker during the worship service is Carlos Rodriguez from The Rock of Reading. The International Dinner will be approx. 12 p.m. After lunch Debbie Dower will share her ministry in Germany. At 2:30 p.m. Sherry Camelleri from Mercy Community Crisis Pregnancy Center will speak. The day will end with a time of ice cream and fellowship. Any questions, talk to Mary Alice Middleton.

MOTHER’S DAY TEA – May 8, 2010, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost: $10. Menu is: Carrot soup, fruit cup, tuna/chicken sandwiches, dessert, punch or tea. Tickets available. See Peg Houser, Pam Shirk, or the Church Office.

GIANT FOOD STORE gift cards are available for purchase from the Church Office. Proceeds benefit the Women of Excellence ministry. Thank you to all the members who have been supporting this fundraiser. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Peg Houser or Gail Fenstermacher.

Attention All Ladies! The Ladies’ Bible Study will resume this Wednesday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m.

The Wednesday night Lenten series with supper and study has now concluded.

NON-VIOLENCE WALK – April 24, 2010. The walk registration is from 10-11 a.m. at the West Reading pavilion. The walk starts at 11 a.m. A volunteer is needed at the church from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. St. James will be open so people can use the bathrooms and also to get a drink of water or lemonade. Please see Sandi Kissinger for more details.

MARRIAGE & FAMILY BUILDERS a program of RBCC, is offering a PREP (Prevention & Relationship Enhancement Program) Workshop on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. James Church. This 8-week workshop is FREE and is the last free workshop that will be offered due to diminished grant funding. This program is for couples or singles who want to learn how to have a more satisfying relationship and to better understand their partner.  

NURSES’ APPRECIATION SUNDAY, May 16 – We will be honoring nurses from our congregation and the community (The Reading Hospital Medical Center, Reading Hospital School of Nursing, local Nursing Homes, etc.)

MILLER-KEYSTONE BLOOD DRIVE – May 17 from 2 to 7 p.m. For more information, see Sandi Kissinger.

ART ON THE AVENUE – June 19th. If your committee is doing something for that day, please inform Sandi Kissinger, Outreach Committee, so she can let the WR Main Street Foundation know for advertising.

CELEBRANT SINGERS – Friday, July 2 at 7:30 p.m. for an evening concert and service of worship and praise.
