Weekly Bulletin – 2/28/2010

How good it is to worship the Lord! We want you to know you are very much welcomed. We encourage everyone to extend the warm hand of Christian fellowship to one another. May we sense Christ’s presence among us as we open our spirits to Him.

 The Church to pray for this week: Haines United Church of Christ in Wernersville and the Countries to pray for: United States of America and Peru.  The Missionary Family to pray for this week: James, Tracy & Adam Snyder.

 Our Lenten Study is every Wednesday night through March 24^th beginning with a light supper of soup and sandwiches. Following the supper, a time of worship and the Lenten study entitled 40 Days of Love. There is a program for the children which will be led by Ann Lilley-Walsh.  Attention All Youth grades 5-8! Get your friends and come to St. James on TONIGHT, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. for our FIRST MIDDLE SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP MEETING! A great time is sure to be had by all. The meetings will be on the second and fourth Sunday of each month. If anyone would like to contribute snacks for the youth group, it would be greatly appreciated.

 The Discipleship Class  had its first meeting this morning at 9:15 a.m. Growing Stronger in God’s Family is the first book of three in The 2:7 Series. Chaplain Schaun Myers and Pastor Craig will teach this class. Still time to come aboard with this adventure in discipleship. Don’t miss it!

 Church Keys: Please return church keys that are not needed or being used. It is expensive to have additional keys made. Therefore, there will now be a $5 deposit for any key that is given out.

 Women of Excellence Breakfast Meeting – March 6, 2010 beginning at 9 a.m. Program: Coffee and God. Come and join the women of the church for a fun-filled morning.

 Mark You Calendar: St. James All You Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner, Saturday, March 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost: $7 Adults and $4 for children under 12 years. Tickets will be available soon. Sponsored by the Parish Life Committee. Help is needed! See John Kowalski.

 GET JAZZED FOR JESUS featuring SAM POWELL, Berks Jazz Fest, on March 28, 2010 at 10:40 a.m. Invite your friends, neighbors, co-workers to this special service. A social will follow after the service.

 Do you shop or purchase gas at Giant Food Store? If so, Women of Excellence (W.O.E.) has a great opportunity for you to help support its ministry. You can now purchase gift cards from the church office. Gift cards are available in $25, $50, and $100 denominations. So instead of using cash or check to pay for your groceries, you would use the gift card instead. Women of Excellence will receive 5% profit for all gift cards sold.
